The Mickey Mouse drummer toy, which
still works, was issued in 1929, and has
the 'Steamboat Willie' face, the first
Mickey Mouse cartoon, which appeared
between 1927 and 1928. According to
Disney's biography, Willie was inspired
by the Lindbergh flight, because Willie
was first seen in 'Plane Crazy', about a
mouse who builds a plane to imitate
Lucky Lindy and impress his girl friend.
